FAQ

What Is Mom Coaching?

One of the biggest benefits of coaching is helping people get past their blocks and moving them forward to reach a goal.

Sometimes, we know how we want to be in life, but we just don’t know how to get there. A coach can help you develop a plan, made up a different steps that enhance your own and new skills, to help you reach that goal.

For example, if you want to stop yelling at your kids, a coach can help you look at what triggers the yelling. Then you and the coach devise the steps (mini goals) together that will lead you to your final objective. The coach will help hold you accountable, because let’s face it, life makes it easy to get off track. At the end, the coach will help you with the steps to maintain your intention long term.

A mom coach specifically works with moms, not only with issues around parenting, but around eliminating overwhelm, guilt and shame, low self esteem, confusion, etc and improving confidence, boundary setting, communication, etc.

Do I Need Therapy or Coaching?

Sometimes you may start coaching and realize that you need more in-depth work. Or you may know this right from the get go. There are times when our personal history interferes with our daily lives and we need to truly work through it. An example of this would be a traumatic childhood that is playing itself out today or you can’t shake those feelings.

Coaching may help to learn how to alleviate the behaviors. While going in depth may help to resolve stuckness.

Because I am a therapist and a coach, I can help you sort through and figure out what would be the most successful coarse to take for you to get to where you want to go.

How Is Coaching Done?

Coaching can be done by phone, email, online, or in person; or a combination of all of these things. We will decide what would be the most effective way for you to get your needs met during our first conversation.

How Long Will Coaching Take?

Direct contact coaching sessions can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on what the goal is at that time.

The length of time for success depends on different factors such as what your goals are, how committed you are, how often you follow through with goal assignments.

The most important thing to remember is that your success is not only dependent on your coach, but also on you. When you take the initiative and follow through between meeting times, you will reach your objectives sooner and more completely.
